Spice Up the Health Foods!

by Alyssa on March 26, 2013

As of late, I’ve been eating relatively poorly. No matter how hard I try to get on a health kick again! So, I decided to browse through some fun recipes on the Tone It Up blog and pinterest pages – AWESOME IDEAS. I somehow came across one similar to this idea, and since I was craving getting more filling, veggie-filled meals in, it was perfect.

Cauliflower Buffalo Bites

I began with a 5 inch head of cauliflower. A pretty decent size.

Cut it into 1 inch pieces and soak to cleanse.

While the cauliflower is steaming (for about 15 minutes), I got the wing sauce ready. You can probably find a healthier option, but I figured this would work :).

You only need about two tablespoons since it spreads thin. I placed the desired amount into a bowl.

Finally, once the cauliflower is softer, place it on a dish and pour the bowl of sauce onto it evenly. I mixed mine around on the plate, of course.

That’s it! You’re ready to go! I was pretty surprised at how filling it was, but this is definitely a new favorite when I crave something like fast food :D.

How do you spice up your veggies?

What a fun take on veggies. I love how simple it is too. Thanks for sharing. My go to to make myself eat anything is creole seasoning. I use it in lieu of salt but the amounts of it that I add are probably unhealthy.

Ah I may have to try that, too! Thanks! I enjoy simple meals like this one. :)

Yum, I think you could put hot sauce on anything and it would taste great. Well…maybe not chocolate haha. But veggies for sure!

Me too! I love it! But I would have to agree with the chocolate thing. I don’t think that would work ;) haha

I’ve tried making those a few times and they never turn out for me. Then again, I don’t really LOVE cauliflower, so that could be why! lol I put hot sauce on everything….we actually have at least 3 different types at any given time. I take my hot sauces very seriously ;) lol
